Eva’s Village held its Annual Benefit Gala Dinner on November 8, 2012 honoring Wells Fargo Bank and The Church of Christ the King.  The Benefit Gala was subtitled “30 Years of Hope”. Each year this event provides a critical funding source to the many programs that make Eva’s Village one of the most comprehensive and effective antipoverty organizations in NJ. The Gala was a great success raising over $630,000 to support Eva’s programs.

The event took take place on October 25, 2011 at Mayfair Farms, West Orange, and honored TD Bank for their longstanding financial and volunteer support to Eva’s Village.

Special recognition was given to the construction companies and contractors who have helped to build Eva’s Village over the past 29 years. Joe Piscopo, renowned comedian and entertainer performed as master of ceremonies and auctioneer, opening the evening with his own special (and very funny) New Jersey version of the song “New York, New York”.

This important event raised $630,000 for the many anti-poverty programs at Eva’s Village, particularly the Hope Residence for Mothers and Children.

Although his unique talents are in constant demand from show business quarters, Joe devotes an extraordinary amount of time to non-profit and charitable activities. His willingness to perform at benefit functions knows no limits.

Although Joe’s impressive career and public service includes several major accomplishments, he insists his proudest achievement of all is twice being named Father of the Year in 1983 by the National Father’s Day Council, and in 1989 by the New Jersey Council of Children’s Rights. No matter how busy he may be, Joe always makes sure he has enough time to spend at his Central New Jersey home with his children Joey, Michael, Alexandra and Olivia.

Rev. Msgr. Vincent E. Puma, Founder of Eva’s Village, Sister Gloria Perez, Director, and the Board of Directors were pleased to announce at the 2010 Annual Benefit Gala that the Eva’s Village Apartments project has been completed. Located at 133 Prince Street, Paterson, NJ, Eva’s Village Apartments provides 50 units of badly needed affordable housing in downtown Paterson. The beautiful studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments provide bright, spacious rooms, hardwood floors, fully appointed kitchens, and easy-care bathrooms. The facility also provides a common room for meetings and celebrations, ample off-street secure parking and an outside garden area. Eva’s Village Apartments brings Eva’s mission full circle, from providing shelter for the homeless to providing our clients with the opportunity for permanent affordable housing.
